About Global Health Forum

Since its inception, the Global Health Forum (GHF) of Boao Forum for Asia has not been restricted to discussions about traditional medical problems, such as pharmaceuticals and medical instruments. Instead, it has focused on the frontiers and cross-border integration trends of the health care and been committed to pooling wisdom of the entire field and promoting interdisciplinary collaboration. Today, with the rapid development of Big Data, artificial intelligence, and biological research, it is important to view the health sector from new perspectives.

At the 74th UN General Assembly high-level meeting on universal health coverage, all UN member states agreed to strive to achieve universal health coverage by 2030. Universal health coverage covers a full range of high-quality essential health services and guarantees that all individuals and communities have access to all the health services they need, from health promotion to prevention, treatment, rehabilitation and palliative care, without financial hardship.

The GHF promotes the Outline of the Plan for Healthy China 2030. By pooling global will and building consensus, the Global Health Forum of Boao Forum for Asia aims to promote the global health cause and the health sector and boost international health cooperation to contribute to the improvement of health and well-being for all humankind and the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
