These accolades recognize his exceptional achievements and dedication to international collaboration in advancing cancer research.

China’s Zhongyuan Lifetime Science & Medicine Award Recognizes Global Collaborative Achievements
In Beijing, Dr. Murphy accepted China’s Zhongyuan Lifetime Science & Medicine Award. This accolade is reserved for exceptional scientists and innovators, both from China and around the world, who have achieved groundbreaking milestones in the realms of life sciences and medicine. Dr. Murphy's remarkable contributions align perfectly with the ideals of this esteemed award.

This is an acknowledgement of Dr. Murphy’s longstanding commitment to international collaboration, a journey that began in 1978 and continues to this day. Having recently made over 125 working trips to China, Dr. Murphy's collaborative efforts transcend borders and have left an indelible mark on the global medical community.

A former postdoctoral fellow under Dr. Murphy at the Hipple Cancer Research Center in Dayton, Ohio, Professor Tao Cheng has been awarded the Zhongyuan Concord Lifetime Medicine Achievement Award, China's second-highest honor. Professor Cheng has built an illustrious career, currently serving as the Director and Professor of Medicine at the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences & Peking Union Medical College. He also holds the position of Director at the Institute of Hematology & Blood Disease Hospital and State Key Laboratory of Experimental Hematology in China.

Ellis Island Medal of Honor Celebrates Dedication to Cancer Research
The Ellis Island Medals of Honor, established in 1986, are among the most esteemed awards in the United States. Recipients, like Dr. Murphy, are individuals who embody the spirit of selfless dedication to the betterment of the United States and its citizens. This prestigious honor, presented earlier this year in May, is a testament to Dr. Murphy’s tireless efforts in advancing the field of cancer research.

A Global Initiative Named HARMONY
As the chairman and co-founder of the Society for Translational Oncology (STO), Dr. Murphy's latest undertaking is an initiative named HARMONY. This initiative aims to drive and facilitate optimal cancer outcomes globally through the improved sharing and exchange of best practices and novel solutions. Dr. Murphy and STO are committed to collaborating with agencies around the world to expedite life-changing therapies for cancer patients.
